A Year of Light, Hope, and Transformation: City of Refuge’s 2024 Annual Report

In 2024, City of Refuge continued its mission of empowering individuals and families to overcome crisis and achieve their full potential.

This year’s report highlights inspiring journeys like Jabrielle, a former student who returned to City School Atlanta as a math teacher, and Silas, a U.S. Air Force veteran who overcame substance abuse and launched a new career in automotive technology. Keenan’s story stands out as well—once stuck in underpaid jobs, he found purpose through City of Refuge’s Cybersecurity program and now works full-time in the tech industry.

Beyond these individual stories, the numbers speak volumes:

• Over 281,000 meals served to those in need.

• 819 individuals placed into jobs, with 78 securing positions earning over $50,000 per year.

• 381 job training graduates and 3,809 job fair participants.

• 473 men, women, and children housed, with 45 moving into stable, independent housing.

• A 0% recidivism rate among returning citizens served.

• 100% graduation rate from City School Atlanta.

City of Refuge also provided critical services like therapeutic programs, youth development, and health and wellness resources. Their integrated approach helps families stabilize, learn new skills, and thrive.

Financially, 82.6% of City of Refuge’s $18.4 million in operating expenses went directly toward programs, underscoring a deep commitment to mission-driven impact. With net assets growing by over $5.3 million, City of Refuge is positioned to continue delivering transformative results.
